Meeting with the Dead

I walk along the sidewalks of the town as it rains. I walk with my arms crossed and stopped. I look up and felt the raindrops hit my helmet.

I was perched on a brick wall enjoying the rain when I spotted the old tin can. He had stopped in the middle of the sidewalk and stared up at the sky. I looked up too but all I got from it was an eye full of rainwater. I wiped my eyes with an irritable growl before hopping off the wall. "Salutations Militis! Might I have a word with you? I can guarantee it will be relatively quick." I called out as I trotted up to him. I only just noticed how tall he was and straightened up myself, although I barely even reached his shoulders. "I never realized how absurdly tall you are." I muttered to myself.

I remain looking up at the sky. As I look up the water hits my flame but I do not feel a thing. I look down and saw Ceres "Ceres....what is it?....please, let out your word towards me...."

"Well I was just curious about something." I said using my wings to cover my head from the rain. "Do you know the necromancer? You did stand at his side and leave a student to die. I don't think most staff members would have done that. Granted none of them were really there...."

".....I am under his command....but alas..I am under my own free will...he placed a spell on me...but I am free...whoever commands me I am at their side...*breathes* I was under athemises control...now I am under Necros..." I look back at the sky. "I could have saved her...yes....but I cannot revive the once living....If I could....I would've revived my wife..."

"What do you mean by whoever commands you? How do they do that?" I asked fascinated. I quickly checked myself and realized what a stupid question that was. "Er sorry, bad question. So how's Xenova doing?"

I crossed my arms and chuckled to Ceres. "....Ceres...you are a curious one indeed.....Xenovia is well...*breathes*...but can I ask you something?"

"Good to hear she's doing alright. Yeah, go ahead and shoot. Chances are I'll have an answer." I said folding my wings neatly as the rain died down to a light drizzle.

"You seem....fascinated by.. my..appearance. ..*breathes*...why is that so? Are you not afraid of me?....do I not scare you?...you seem to be the one who is intrigued and...actually converses with me..."

"Don't get me wrong, I bet you're freaking terrifying in battle. Especially in that dragon form. Oh I hope to see that one day." I chuckled. "However you haven't given me a reason to be scared of you otherwise. You're relatively polite, quiet and pretty much act like a normal recluse in my opinion." I quickly stepped under the shelter of a nearby tree as the rain picked up again. "And as for my interest in you it is because I find your physical appearance and story to be quite intriguing. Not every day you get to converse with a possessed suit of armor. Pretty fucking cool, no offense."

I paused and thought. I look upward and towards Ceres. " what is a girl like you doing....outside...on a rainy day?.."

"Just wandering. As much as I dislike getting drenched like this I find that it helps me calm down. Plus there's an ice cream shop right around the corner. Any weather is the right weather for ice cream." I grinned looking up at him before my attention was caught by a sparrow darting by. "How about yourself professor?"

"This is....normal weather for a dead soldier....*breathes*...ice cream?....what is this cream of ice?..."

"It sounds sort of nasty when you say it like that." I laughed and pulled him towards the shop. "Can you still taste food?" I asked curiously as we entered the shop. "Because ice cream is one of the best things ever. Never had it back where I came from."

I felt her grasp and I imagined a child pulling me towards a store. I heard childlike voices 'daddy...daddy...I want this one! Oh pleeease?...' I quickly snap out of it and entered the shop. I crossed my arms and looked around. "Here....buy us some of this.." I handed Ceres a bag of gold.

"Alright cool, I never pass down a free chance at ice cream. What flavors do you want?" I asked as we looked at the rows of ice cream. I looked up and noticed the clerk staring wide eyed at Militis.

"Give me all of them..."

I couldn't help a surprised laugh at that and quickly ordered one of everything for him and a few scoops for myself. One employee came out with a huge bowl almost the size of a sink and placed it in front of you. The thing had to weigh at least 4lbs. "Can you taste food? Where does it go? How do you even eat?" I asked my slew of questions as I began to eat my own. I scooted the bag of remaining coins over to you and leaned back to watch.

The bag of gold dissappears as flame engulfs it. I get a spoon and start to scoop up the ice cream. From the flame of my helmet a mouth forms from dead bones. I take the first scoop and eat it with my newly half fast made mouth from bones. As I consume the ice cream my flame dies out but Im still eating and moving. I then pick up the sink like bowl and placed it near my stomach. A hole in me forms and I dropped the ice cream in it. You can hear children laughing and sing in joy. I placed the empty sink back on the table and my hole in my stomach closes. "........yes....very sweet...."

"That was the coolest way I've ever seen somebody eat." I said staring at him with wide eyes. "Do you have a legit stomach? What was with that children's laughter? What would happen if someone stuck their arm or head in there? Can you just walk around eating people like that? Have you ever just decided to eat someone and like, threw them into that mouth? Would they die?" I stared up at you eagerly as if I expected an answer for everything, which I did. That or an irritated remark at the wave of questions.

"I do not have a stomach....it's a void...I can make parts from bones as if they were alive...the children are from the souls I took after they....died...stuck your head in there...you will be in a dark void......I can eat anything......they would die if I wanted them to...." I stood up "here....stick your hand in here..." I leaned in and took my helmet off revealing my hallowed inside

"....... will I get my hand back in one piece?" I asked as I stuck my left hand in anyways. I still had to stand on my tiptoes to do it though.

as she placed her hand in I could feel something. I thought it would be funny to make her grab a hand and shake it. Inside I made a hand out of bones to grab her hand. "It is very nice to meet you...Ceres.." I gave a small laugh

I felt something grab my hand and jumped with a small yelp. But when I heard you speaking I realized it was you.... I hoped. "Pleasure to meet you too Militis." I grinned and shook the skeletal hand heartily. "This is the closest to a proper introduction I think we've had."

I placed my helmet back and my flame lit up again. "Indeed....you make me realize the joy of conversation....I enjoy conversing with you Ceres." I got up and walked towards the door. "I am going to walk more....if you have more questions...follow me.."
