Scorching Dead Secrets

Back into the land of the undead, back into the depths of hell. I am in my quarters deciphering charts. These charts lead to somewhere. Olga gave me these old charts that had weird writings. "Olga...what is given to me?" She walks slowly to sit on one of my chairs. "Militis....you've been spending years and years looking for these men to take back revenge. So far you're out of luck" she adjusts yourself "You have been wasting your time...they are already dead....the leader died and his soul is here....please go hurry up and end his life....stop hurting your soul and rest your soul already." I lean on my chair with my arms crossed and eventually got up. I leave the house as Olga sees through a window. "Your soul needs rest Militis. Settle down now. Make use of this curse you have.....this poor soul...the most wisest, are the most damaged."

I approached the shack about half an hour later and knocked on the door a bit urgently. I glanced down at the festering spot on my left arm and sucked in a nervous breath. I knocked again louder and called, "Militis, Olga, are either of you there?"

Olga opens the door "Ah, Ceres my dear, Come in come in. What brings you here?"

"Er I was hoping for some advice on a small.... problem I'm experiencing." I said stepping inside quickly. "Is Militis here?:

"Militis is out and about looking for...someone. What is it dear? Your face says it all" Olga sits down on a old ripped sofa. "You're covering your arm"

"Well you see I sort of got..... cornered by a Plaguewalker and well..." I uncovered my arm to show her the damage. The infected area was from the top of my hand to my shoulder. The area was covered in oozing boils and cysts, rotting flesh and bloody lacerations. "The initial wound was only about the size of a small pebble but it's been spreading." I said quickly covering it up again.

"Ah my dear. You are suffering from the plague....come here" Olga grabs her wrist and goes to the kitchen. She gets a bottle ready and mixes it with some ingredients. "A dab of fish eyes...a little bit of dragon flesh...here's some water...Aaaaaand a piece of a bone from a giant" she mixes it all up and smiles at Ceres. "The medicine is ready dear" Olga hands the bottle to Ceres "Take this to Militis and don't worry he'll know what to do...he went north from here" she points "please hurry dear you'll end up dead halfway there if you don't find him"

I took the bottle and thanked her again and again. "I'm in your debt Olga, if you ever need me to do anything for you please let me know. I owe you my life." I said earnestly before bolting out the door and turning into my dragon form. I took off into the sky heading northwards.

"Wait dear! I forgot about the side effects of the plague!...oh she's gone...maybe she'll make it. I'm sure she will." Olga went back inside and sat on the sofa eating worms from a bottle. I continue my quest for this man Olga spoke off. 'Could this man be him?....am I finally going to have my revenge?...tis be the day' I begin to clenched my hands into fists as I walked towards the tomb with a red handkerchief. I immediately get flashbacks of the uniforms of the cult. I rubbed my head and continue to go past the tomb. Ahead there is a trail with a white shirt stabbed by a branch. He is near and I know he's on the move

Soon I could see the outline of the walking armor below. I landed nearby and checked the infection. It had now spread over part of my throat, over my stomach and started crawling down my legs. I quickly made my way over to Militis. "Excuse me Militis, pardon my intrusion but I need your help." I said trying to keep my voice calm. But I couldn't help the blatant fear I felt at the thought of going out like this.

"You have the plague do you?" I said as I crossed my arms and turned around. "I know because.....the plague spreads to the living...Tempore will be infected and everyone would die....now I'm sure Olga told you to come find me"

"Yes sir... I shouldn't have taken the bet." I said with a nervous laugh. I took out the medicine that Olga had given me and asked, "I'm really sorry to interrupt you but she told me you'd know what to do... could you help?"

"Lay down and expose....to me the infected parts...hurry because you can actually die....any second..." I grabbed the bottle and grabbed a piece of bark "Here you might...want to bite this" I opened the bottle and got ready to use it . "Now let's begin"

I stripped off the clothing that covered my infected areas and laid down as he instructed. I bit down on the bark and waited trying not to tense up.

I scooped up some of Olga's cold slimy medicine and slowly lathered it on the exposed parts. "Now comes the painful part...you might want to close your eyes......Im now going to burn it into your skin" I got a flame on my hand and slowly went towards her arm first. I pressed the flame against the arm and rubbed. Each rub spews out sparks. Slowly the marks of the plague starts to dissappear.

I bit down hard on the bark with a muffled yelp of pain and dug my claws into the ground. I flinched every now and then but tried to keep still overall. Yet about halfway through the bark was almost split.

"Now for the neck and stomach....you should be fine....you are still alive yes?....I was too focused on the skin" I placed my hand around her neck and gripped to turn up the fire. I scooped up more medicine and placed on the stomach as I gripped her neck. "Almost done..." I let go of the neck and went towards the stomach. Before she knew it all of the plague is gone. "There Ceres...you should be fine.....those burns will go away in a....minute..." I got up and held my hand "you should be able to stand"

I took his hand and pulled myself up carefully. I quickly wiped away my tears and took a second to regain my composure. "Thank you very much Militis... I'm sorry that I'm always needing your help with everything." I said avoiding his gaze ashamed. "Sorry to have disturbed you."

"There is no need to apologize child....I am the one to blame for....I have brought you into this world of danger......you are not my daughter nor I'm not your father...but a student and I must take care of my students....Ceres come to me when death is near" I tapped her shoulder and walked away "Now I must find this soul"

"Do you mean my death or...."I asked curiously following after him. "And you don't have to apologize for anything. I've really enjoyed my time here. I just shouldn't have taken that bet."

"Come to me when you are about to breathe your last.....breath...when you are suffering...when you are dieing....when you are about to close your eyes forever" I begin to speed walk but stopped immediately "Bet?.....with who?"

"Oh it was all in good fun." I said avoiding the topic and asking instead, "Did you want me to come to you in the living world or in this world?"

"Ceres...there shouldn't be any bets...in this world...you could end up dead...who did you make a bet with?" I turn my whole body to face her.

"Yeah, I learned my lesson already. No more bets." I said pulling my clothes back down to cover where they had been infected. My skin was almost completely back to normal by now. "Thank you again for helping me. I owe you yet again." I sighed looking back southwards. "I should go thank Olga properly too for her help."

I face palmed "at least you leared your lesson....now I'm after a man...either go to Olga or follow me" I walk backwards then face towards my direction.
