Where The Dead Sleep

It was an unhappy day due to the dark gray clouds. An open field with stones sticking out with engravings. Olga is looking at the graves under an umbrella. I walk down the aisle and stood next her with my arms crossed.
"Looks like it might rain today. What a tragic loss of sunshine for this world." She said to me. I stood quiet for a moment. "Olga...it is done...I am free......" It begins to sprinkle. The moment of silence gave the message to her. She chuckled "Was it worth it? You are a knight of the dead who lost everything and revenge was the best treatment for you.....was it worth it?" She begins to walk as I walk next to her. She wraps her arm around mine and we walked together. Olga struggles to walk "in this land, I am weak....curse these legs under this world...I am too old for walking"

I sat on a tombstone near the entrance. I had followed Militis but figured that him and Olga would wish to speak alone so I'd stayed behind. However when I saw the two walking this way I smiled and waved cheerily. "Hello Miss Olga. How are you doing on this fine day?"

"Ceres my dear...come hug this old hag" she widens her arms as she bends over a little. "Careful Ceres....you might actually break her" Olga hits my head with her stick. "What brings you here?" It begins to pour

I trotted over and carefully hugged the elder lady. "Hello ma'am. How are you? " I asked before pulling back and scavenging through my pack. "I have a small token for you in the way of thanks." I pulled out a jar full of worms, baby rats, spiders and snakes. "Militis told me you liked this sort of stuff to eat? I'm sorry of you don't. Just tell me if there's something else you'd like instead."

"Ah thank you child" she gets the jar and puts it in her bag made of old animal hide. "Ceres...you remind me of my daughter Runa. She had the most kind spirit and attitude of a warrior. She was actually Militis's wife. I'm Militis's mother in law. Would you like to meet her?" she says as she wraps her arm around Ceres. I stayed behind and looked up at the sky pouring into my helmet with my arms crossed.

"You're his mother in law?" I repeated surprised. "I'd love to meet her if that would be alright." I said curiously.

I stared at the two as they walked away with my arms crossed. She grabs her arm as they walked. Walking passed the aisles gave Olga a smile.

I walked by Olga's side and asked, "How did she.... you know.... pass? If you don't mind my asking that is." I enjoyed the cool drizzle on my back and shivered slightly in pleasure.

She responds "she was killed" they both stop at a grave with an angel stone. I stand behind them with my arms crossed

I stared down at the grave but my attention was focused on the angel. "What was she like?" I asked staring at the smooth stone face. The rain had given it a dark grey hue yet it was still a pretty statue.

I spoke out of turn "she was an angel.....she was like my sun in my dark dead world.....she was my life....." Olga smiled as she puts a fresh flower on the grave

I nodded to myself and pulled my gaze away from the statue. A troubled frown touched my lips and I wiped away approaching tears as unwanted memories invaded my thoughts. A dragon with dark brown scales dotted with diamonds sat smiling on a hill. His left eye was ruby red and his right was emerald green. Sitting next to him was a smaller purple dragon, myself. I shook my head and turned away from the grave slightly. "I'm sorry about your wife. She sounds like she was a great woman and mother."

"She was...now I'm cursed to walk the earth...with regret and revenge and killing thoughts....I'm no longer free....but I must teach for nobody will pull my mistake again" I walk to the grave to touch the foot of the angel. Olga touches the foot as well. "Militis...she is in a better place with no war and hate. She deserves to be there"

"Thank you very much for giving me the chance to meet Runa." I said quietly and pulled towards the graveyard entrance with a pained expression. "But I need to get back to my room. Seems like I have to cleanse my memories again.... an unwelcome guest has submerged in them." Without another word I stalked off towards my room trying to ignore the fond and sad memories of the earth dragon. Between Methuselah's face and the Ghost of Lies's words she was losing her careless facade. She felt the need to banish those memories again.

Olga grabs my arm and we walk down the aisles. 'Looking at Ceres reminds me of my daughter...'. Olga places her head on my shoulder signaling tiredness, so we walk towards the portal to the dead world
