THE FESTIVAL

It was a nice sunny day like usual on hydro along the Dritarian coast. Jack just emerged from the clear waters after a long mornings training. He had a picnic stashed behind some shrubbery and set it up on the beach. He hoped belle and the others got his invitation and his detailed instructions on how to get to the rendevouz with him to go to the pawve lagoons to go to the festival they host at the temple there. Jack knew the monk who ran that temple. His name was kargoroff and he was the one who trained jack and pretty much taught him everything  almost.  Jack opened up a bottle fruit soda as he relaxed watching the waves.

I stelthfully snuck up on Jack and took his soda dinking it's contents. "Ah that was nice" I smiled evilly.

Jack had one soda between his legs. "i heard you coming honestly" he took the other soda he had between his legs and opened the cap. "So hows it going brat."

I stuck my tongue out. "I'm not a brat!" I whined, sitting down crossed legged next to him. "Do you think I should wear my festival clothes today or no?" I asked sighing, I had gotten bullied by some of the water dragons again for being not like them. And being adopted.

"I think you should honestly. Forget what those other fools say. You look good in it and its festival night." Jack smiled "I could always "persuade" them to leave you alone" Jack eyes flashed orange and he grinned sinisterly.

"That doesn't work and you know it." I sigh. I was sick of getting bullied.

I placed my hand on ella's shoulder and said " Wear the dress its a time of celebration not judging come ella." Jack smiled pulling out tabarian wrapp (equivalent to shredded beef mixed with chicken) . "As the earthlings say "'Carpe Diem'". He then cut his wrapp in half and gave it to ella.

I smiled. "No, thanks." I said getting up. " Okay I'll go get changed." I said teleporting to my house. "Mama~" I called and she came around the corner, wearing a blush pink sundress and an apron, her long sea form curly green hair tied up in a messy high pony tail. I rushed her with a hug knocking the wind out of her. "What is it my little lightening bug?" she asked looking down at me petting my short blonde hair. I've been told I'm tall for a electric dragon but even still I'm very small compared to all the water dragons. "I changed my mind, I'll wear my festival clothes and make-up." I beam up at her. "I have something even better for you. When your father and brother went to the water and electric traders market on Valhalla they found a festival dress used by people believe to be from you're home." I looked at my mama in wonder and awe. "M-my planet?" I said, tears stung at my eyes. "Lightening bug we don't know for sure. The merchant said it was from a electric culture that disappeared a few centuries ago." she said lightly. I pulled out of her arms and wiped my eyes. "Come I laid it on you're bed." she grabbed a hold of my hand and lead me upstairs to my room. There laying on my bed was a robe like silk garment it's background was a steele grey, with a dull yet bright yellow in erratic patterns near the bottom, there were white, star like dots placed in spots all over the top that didn't have strange looking beasts flying about. "The seller said that those beast were the pets of the gods and this robe tells the story of how they helped the people of the electric people live and turned them into dragons. That this robe was to be wore by the princessa on their festivals, but since she disappeared the people lost hope. This was the most valuable thing found on the deserted planet." I turned to see my father in the door frame. "It's beautiful father but I can't wear this, it belongs to a princessa." my father smiled and shook his head laughing. "Sweetie you just might be the missing princessa." I looked at him with wide eyes. "You're mama will help you put it on."
By the time we finished getting the dress on it was dark and I still had to do the electic festival make-up Devon learned when they got the dress that looked like a human kimono. There was a thick blood red sash that went around my waist with a big bow in the back. The make-up was silver, yellow, white and it was swirly on my jaw and neck. The eyeliner was done in a cat eye, the shadow on my bottom lip was a blended spilt silver and white, whist my outer eye and high cheeks were a yellow/pink blend. My lips matched the sash, blood red.
I walked out the house and turned bowing to my family, "Thank-you for helping me." they just smiled as I turned around and walked to the festival.

It was night time and I was standing outside the temple entrance. The Festivals scenery was probably the equivalent to the festivals held on earth on the island known as japan. My teacher has always admired the culture ever since going there on one of his spiritual journeys. He prided himself on how close he replicated the festival here to festivals on earth and was quite cheery this time of the year. I was wearing an ancient hydronian armored tunic with a leathery kilt *sort off like the ones used by the Romans* Its tradition that I dress like this because of the martial artist demonstration that my mentor and i have during the climax of the festival. It brilliantly combined certain accents of Japanese culture with the hydronian culture. The demonstration almost seemed like a dance performance to be honest. Im still a little nervous due to the fact that i havent seen Orabelle yet or the others. I really wanted them to see my performance, but i extremely wanted her to see me perform. I continue to wait impatiently tapping my foot on the ground anxiously.

I walked through the market place and everyone was staring at me. I looked down to hide myself and maybe become invisible when I knocked into someone, and fell on my bum. "I'm sorry I wasn't looking where I was going." I said. I looked up and was shocked to see...

"Something troubling you?" I laughed, finding Ella's grovelling stance entertaining in my cheerful mood.

I gasped "Margurka what are you doing here?" I asked confused. I tried getting up but my robes were not permitting me to.

"I received Jack's invitation," I responded with stumbling for a moment with the horde of fireworks in my arms.

"Where are you headed with all those fireworks?" I asked still trying to stand.

"I'm not sure entirely," I laughed, shrugging, "figured I'd find someplace to use them."

I laughed with Margurka as I finally managed to stand up. "How about the temple?" I said pointing to where Jack was.

"Perfect," I laughed as I imagined it in my mind, "all eyes will be able to turn to it."

"Come on, we'll take my short cut!" I said taking his hand and running down an alley that lead to the stairs the ancients used for weddings before the quake and flood that wiped them out. "The ancients of Lira used to these stairs for weddings and religious events before they were wiped out with the floods. Lira is what this continent used to be called, now we call it Sero-im." I said as we walked up the ancient stairs.

"There were residents before the water dragons?"

"We don't know if they were or not. There are ideas that they were sirens and maybe still are... Some dragons-and Hydorians- say that they've seen a siren or mermaid in the depths of the seas. Not just off our coast here on Sero-im, but others like Junem-ha and Foram-dio. So they might still be out there. I'll admit that I've seen a head poke out from the water and just watch the coast of land. Maybe checking if it's safe to return to land or see what happened to their home. But nothing has been proven. Because if they did come to land their fins would turn to legs. And the bones we have of the ancients aren't useful to tell us these things."

I arrive to the festival with excitement. My eyes wonder everywhere, taking in all that surrounds me. " Wow this is so cool!"

I was waiting worriedly for orabelle to show up. While i was looking a round I spotted a familiar face amongst the crowd. "Hestia!" i shouted from the temple entrance and waved.

I turned around and spotted Jack "Jack!" I shouted while waving back and walking over to him

I approached hestia in my "Romanesque" battle gear. "Hey howsit goin. How are you enjoyin the festival?"

"I'm doing good so far and I love the festival."
